Jeremy Alcoba: Two wins and a "hidden" trophy

The WorldSBK weekend at Cremona delivered more heartwarming moments than Nicolò Bulega's WorldSBK title alone. If you really follow racing and understand what goes on behind the scenes, you cannot ignore what Jeremy Alcoba achieved in the FIM Supersport World Championship.

At a critical moment for his future, as he still has no contract for the 2027 season, the Spanish rider claimed two incredible victories, bringing Kawasaki back to the top in WorldSSP and taking his first wins in this championship. It's a milestone that means so much to him and to Manuel Puccetti's Kawasaki WorldSSP Team, because since 2025 they have worked together on the development of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636. Two years of ups and downs that were followed by such achievement, the result of a huge amount of work.

Jeremy Alcoba experienced some intense emotions, which also came through during his media debriefs after both races. At the end of Race 2, in particular, he let his emotions take over: "I don't think there could be anything better. I won Race 1 by dominating and Race 2 after coming back through and fighting...". At the same time, however, the 2001-born rider from Tortosa struggled to speak: "Please excuse my voice. I lost it after Race 1, after such a long time without winning (his last victory actually dated back to when he raced in the Moto3 Junior World Championship, back in 2019, ed). After Race 2, I didn't scream because I knew I had no voice and, if I had, I wouldn't be able to talk to you now. I controlled myself."

So much emotion, tears, and barely any voice left after shouting out all his joy following Race 1. But there's also a great deal of awareness: "Deep down, I felt that I could do it. I had already imagined winning Race 1 on Friday. And after Race 1, I had imagined winning Race 2. I already knew what I had to do, regardless of what might happen. I know these two victories did not happen by chance. I deserved them. I earned them."

And finally, Alcoba shared an interesting fact, which perfectly wrapped up the debrief: "I took my phone only to talk to my family, and not even that much. I knew Sunday was another day. I even hid the trophy and the caps from Race 1 so I wouldn't see them...And so I wouldn't believe it, you know? I wanted to stay focused and think only about the Race 2 trophy. And it worked brilliantly!"

With two rounds remaining, Jeremy Alcoba wants to continue working hard with his team. And make sure he secures a seat (that he certainly deserves) to compete in the WorldSSP again in 2027...
